Private forest reserves like the Haliburton Forest and provincial parks like the world famous Algonquin will insure that Haliburton will remain a wilderness paradise for years to come.

A true sportsman's fantasyland, Haliburton has something for everyone. If you can tear your self away from the lake, you will find several golf courses and driving ranges. There are literally hundreds of miles of groomed and natural trails for every possible trail-based activity, including trails for hiking, snowmobiling, atving, bicycling, dog sledding and Nordic skiing. Haliburton has miles of boating, clean water for swimming and excellent year-round fishing. It's also home to world class white-water kayaking at the Haliburton Wild Water Reserve and superior down hill skiing at Sir Sam's Ski Area. Haliburton even has its own luge run!

A very active and friendly community, there is always something special going on in Haliburton. Haliburton's largest towns, Minden and the Village of Haliburton, offer a wide array of businesses and services as well as interesting restaurants and shops. Haliburton Village is home to Sir Sanford Fleming School of the Arts and the Northern Light Pavilion, which offers live theatre products. Minden is home to the Agnes Jamieson Gallery and the Minden Pioneer Museum. Both towns boast their own newly build state of the art hospitals.
